PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Dear Members,
Although 2022 marked the end of the
COVID-19 pandemic, global uncertainty
was far from over. Geopolitical tensions,
inflationary conditions and the threat of
a possible recession were some of the
key concerns that kept the world on high
alert during 2022. The dire economic
situation in Sri Lanka and its far reaching
consequences, needs no special mention.
With the confluence of technology
and globalization making the world we
live in increasingly more complex and
unpredictable, it is clear that the role of
the accountant is no longer what it used
to be a decade ago. The rapid evolution
of industry and commerce in the recent
past has compelled companies around
the world to demand a new breed of
accountants who challenge conventional
norms. As the leading professional
accounting body in the Country, CA Sri
Lanka continues to spearhead the evolution
of the profession by producing agents of
change - high functioning professionals
empowered with a broader spectrum of
skills to drive innovation and collaboration
for progress.
