Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management

General information
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka is the Statutory Body responsible for the regulation and control of the Profession of Accountants and Auditors in Sri Lanka and also for the conduct of the qualifying Examinations, Study Courses and Training for the membership of the Institute

Objectives of the course
To provide Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, as well as senior executives / managers in the public and private sectors of the country, with an opportunity to develop a broad perspective of their role in a developing economy and to equip them with the necessary knowledge and expertise, to maximize their participation in business, financial, industrial, trading and commercial activities.

Entry requirements for the course
Those with the following academic and / or professional qualifications with at least three years executive experience shall be eligible to apply for enrolment:

  • Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants or Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.
  • Graduates of recognized Universities.
  • Attorney - at - law.
  • Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrations
  • Member of the Institute of Chartered Engineers, Architects and Values.
  • Member of the Institute of Bankers.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) or the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing.
  • Member of Professional Organizations of OPA, with a Professional Qualification equivalent to a degree.
  • Member of Association of Business Executives UK.

Course completion requirements
In order to be eligible for the award of Diploma, candidates should:

  • have 80% of attendance at lectures, seminars and workshops;
  • obtain a minimum of 50 marks in the written papers in each of the subject areas; and
  • satisfactory level achieved for comprehensive case study

Those who successfully complete the Course will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Business and Financial Administration.
CA Sri Lanka Members will earn 60 CPE hours upon successful completion.

DBFA qualified students are exempted from following 5 subjects of MBA of the University of Southern Queensland,Australia

  • 1 Elective
