Scholarship Scheme

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) offers a number of scholarships that benefit students based on their respective needs and capabilities.

Scholarship schemes

  • LA Weerasinghe Scholarship Fund

Objective of the scheme
Scholarships will be offered for students/ prospective students with financial difficulties to complete their studies at the Institute.

Method of application

  • The institute invites applications through newspaper advertisement for scholarships from students who have successfully passed GCE Advanced Level examination with a minimum of 3 simple passes.
  • To assess the financial circumstances of the applicants, they have to submit income certification form from the Grama Sewaka of the area for the joint family income, together with the application.

Terms and benefits under the scheme
1. Period of scholarship
Award for 01 year initially on annual renewal basis. If a student is successful at the examination during the given year he/she will be allowed to continue.

2. Passing of INSTITUTE  examinations
Two attempts are permitted at the relevant stage of examination within the year of offer.

3. Students should not be engaged in any employment, but engaged in fulltime studies and training.

4. Benefits
Benefits under the Scheme
(i) A waiver of all relevant INSTITUTE  fees – registration fees, study packs, INSTITUTE  lecture fees, Compulsory course fees, training record books, training agreement fees, examination fees (only two attempts)
(ii) he student will receive an allowance of Rs. 3,000/- per month within the period of the scholarship.

Objective of the sScheme
The objective of this scheme is to encourage students who are having best performance in any stream at the GCE (A/L) (Local/London) and participated in extra curricular activities in National, Zonal and school levels to a full time career in Chartered Accountancy.

Method of application
The Institute invites applications from students who possess the above qualifications, in response to the advertisement in the newspaper.

Period of scholarship
The award is for one year initially. It will be renewe annually, if a student is successful at the examination during the given year he/she will benefit with continued scholarships.
