General Information
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka is the Statutory Body responsible for the regulation and control of the Profession of Accountants and Auditors in Sri Lanka and also for the conduct of the qualifying Examinations, Study Courses and Training for the membership of the Institute.
Objective
Those who complete the program will be updated with the theoretical and practical aspects of Business and Accounting disciplines which are relevant to today’s commercial world up to the entry level of Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management of CA Sri Lanka.
Target Group
- Intermediate/Licentiate/CAB qualified students of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka who have not as yet obtained their final qualification
- Part qualified students of CIMA, ACCA, CIM or any equivalent qualification
- Any other qualification mentioned below:
- AAT (Sri Lanka), AAT (UK), HNDA, ICSA (UK), IFA (UK), IBSL, IB (UK), students of Universities, any other professional qualification accepted by the CA Sri Lanka
- Those with substantial experience in Business and Accounting fields without formal qualifications in private and public sector
Course Outline (Duration: one year)
Semester 1 : Preparation of Financial Statements, Cost Analysis in Business, Financial Mathematics, principles of Economics for Business
Semester 2 : Interpretation of Financial Statements, Business Statistics, Principles and Functions of Management, Information Technology
Semester 3 : Cost Control in Business, Business Controls and Systems, Business Law, Business Taxation
Course Duration
In order to be eligible for the award of Diploma, candidates should:
- have 80% of attendance at Lectures
- obtain a minimum of 50 marks in the written papers in each of the subject areas
Methodology
Lecturing, Presentations, Group discussions, Assignments, Case study
Advancements
- Those who successfully complete this course will be eligible to follow Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management (DBM).
- Postgraduate Diploma qualified students are exempted from 5 subjects of the Master of Business Administration of the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
Course Fee
- Rs. 85,000 payable in 3 installments at the commencement of each semester.
- A 10% discount will apply for those who make full payment at the commencement.
