A seminar on Simplified Value Added Tax organized by the Practicing Accountants Chartered Students’ Society (PACSS) was successfully concluded on the 23rd August 2011 at CA Sri Lanka Auditorium. It was enriched with the presence of Mrs. B.A.D.D. Herath, Deputy Commissioner S VAT Branch of Inland Revenue Department who was the Resource Person for the session. Mr.Ganaka Amarasinghe Chairman of Education, Curriculum Review & Development Committee of CA Sri Lanka attended the session as a moderator who assisted the Question & Answer session by presenting the issues of the gathering to the resource person in a rational manner. The Seminar was a joint effort of both PACSS and the Educational Division of CA Sri Lanka, which had a stunning student gathering of well over 400.
‘Fusion’ Business Magazine, a publication of PACSS, is published in line with the Students’ Conference. The primary objective of this magazine is to encourage students to contribute articles of their choice and it provides an excellent opportunity for students to express their views and opinions. Further, newsletter of the society is circulated annually amongst all registered students of the ICASL which includes useful information such as syllabus change, training requirements, examination calendar etc.
