SAB Campus of CA Sri Lanka to offer its world-class degrees in Bangladesh

The SAB Campus of CA Sri Lanka recently broke new ground in the South Asian educational landscape as it officially entered the higher education market in Bangladesh, in its efforts to expand its footprint across South Asia.

With the bold vision of empowering the next generation of leaders in the South Asian region, SAB Campus of CA Sri Lanka made history by being one of the first Sri Lankan campuses to spread its wings in the region by offering its world-class degree programmes at the Cambrian International Study Centre (CISC) in Bangladesh.

The groundbreaking historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CA Sri Lanka and CISC was signed this month in the presence of Mr. Sanjaya Bandara, President of CA Sri Lanka, and Mr. M. K. Bashar, Chairman of CISC. Among those who attended the hybrid event were CA Sri Lanka’s Vice President Mr. Heshana Kuruppu, Chairman of the Board of Management of SAB Campus Mr. Ashane Jayasekara, acting CEO Mr. Prasanna Liyanage, and Director of SAB Campus Senior Professor Ariyarathna Jayamaha.

Speaking on the significance of the occasion, Mr. Bandara said that the MoU with Bangladesh is an important milestone in the history of CA Sri Lanka and SAB Campus as well as for the higher education landscape. "I am delighted that we can now offer our world-class degrees to the future leaders of Bangladesh in our endeavour to continue to produce global graduates," he said.

Mr. Jayasekara emphasised that the partnership with the Bangladeshi institution is a significant effort on the part of the SAB Campus of CA Sri Lanka to boost the country's economy by attracting foreign students to join the degree programmes, which will also boost foreign exchange earnings.

Students from Bangladesh who are interested in pursuing the SAB Campus degrees can do so by attending lectures at CISC in Bangladesh, but they also have the option to continue their studies in Sri Lanka, according to Snr. Prof. Jayamaha. To make sure the programme is run in line with our high standards, "SAB officials will strictly monitor the degree programs conducted overseas because the degree is finally offered by the SAB Campus in Sri Lanka,” he further added.

Apart from the highly successful Bachelor of Applied Accounting Degree, the SAB Campus has also launched the Bachelor of Management in Business Analytics Degree as well as a Master of Business Administration. All degrees offered at the SAB Campus have been approved by the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Education.
