With global consumption estimated to double over the next 15 years and emerging markets continuing to drive the global demand, one of the country’s most sought after corporate events, the 35th National Conference of Chartered Accountants will give leadership to how traditional business models and conventional corporate ideologies can change with time to revive and tackle the paradigm shift.
Details of the national conference organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) was unveiled recently at a news conference attended by President of CA Sri Lanka, Mr. Arjuna Herath, Vice President Mr. Lasantha Wickremasinghe, Chairman of the National Conference Committee Mr. Heshana Kuruppu, Chairman of the National Conference Technical Committee Mr. Nandika Buddhipala and CEO of CA Sri Lanka, Mr. Aruna Alwis.
This year’s conference will revolve around the thought provoking theme “Rethink to Revive” where Chartered Accountants including business leaders will be given thought leadership to incorporate the elements of rethink and revive to steer corporates towards enhanced success which will ultimately reflect upon the country and its development drive.
Over the past three and a half decades, the conference organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) has built a reputation as a business summit that provokes thoughts and spurs insights into broad economic and business issues; apart from its core emphasis on finance related topics.
The conference which will be held from 23rd to 25th October 2014 at the Waters Edge, Battaramulla, will consist of two days of technical sessions featuring a multitude of high profile local and foreign experts who will share their insights and expertise on how to revive the existing business models and conventional wisdom to tackle growing challenges while focusing on how proper financial control could convert challenges into opportunities.
The technical sessions will further deliberate on the new emerging economic trends in the global space and the evolving developments in technology catering to such economic demands, and how entrepreneurial creativity and pertinent leadership will be vital to respond to the challenges and opportunities of the economy.
The 35th National Conference will also educate participants on the necessity to embrace and adopt accounting for sustainability which will ensure better decision-making. Over the two days, experts will also share their success stories on how they pushed boundaries of the accountancy profession to tackle challenges and convert them into opportunities.
The conference which is one of the country’s largest corporate events sees a massive participation surpassing over 1200 chartered accountants and business leaders annually.
