CA Sri Lanka signs MoU with the global leader in information security education & certification

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sri Lanka Chapter of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc. (ISC2), the global, not-for-profit leader in educating and certifying information security professionals.

Headquartered in the United States and with offices in London, Hong Kong and Tokyo ISC2 is recognized for Gold Standard certifications and world class education programmes.

The MoU was signed by CA Sri Lanka President Mr. Sujeewa Rajapakse and ISC2 Sri Lanka Chapter President Mr. Wasantha Perera in the presence of CA Sri Lanka’s Vice President Mr. ArjunaHerath, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Aruna Alwis, IT Faculty Chairman Mr. Channa Manoharan and IT Faculty Alternate Chairman Mr. Ashane Jayasekera.

The agreement will pave the way for both organisations to conduct joint seminars and workshops for the benefit of CA Sri Lanka members, while special discounts will also be made available for members of both bodies on various programmes organized by the two bodies.

ISC2 will also provide assistance in driving the CA Sri Lanka IT GRC forum which is expected to be launched shortly.

CA Sri Lanka President, Mr. Sujeewa Rajapakse said, the IT Faculty of CA Sri Lanka regularly organizes a wide range of IT programmes which are relevant in today’s context for the benefit of the accounting professionals in Sri Lanka.

“CA Sri Lanka has recently entered into a series of MoUs with leading global IT bodies such as Microsoft, ISACA in our continuing endeavor to offer our members the best of qualifications and services, and this agreement with ISC2 is one such initiative in this continuing endeavor,” he added.

He also noted that this partnership will be mutually beneficial to both bodies.

CA Sri Lanka CEO, Mr. Aruna Alwis noted that IT knowledge is a prerequisite for any professional and the Institute having identified the importance of enhancing the knowledge of professionals in this field, decided to tie up with ISC2 to help develop the knowledge of accountants in the field of information security.
